December Days Pinkfresh Studio Blog Hop

Hey everyone, welcome to this month’s December Days blog hop for Pinkfresh Studio!

Make sure you hop through to the rest of the team’s blogs to be in with a chance to win some December Days goodies! I’ll leave links to everyone’s blogs at the bottom of the post.

Now, onto my (very silly) layout!

Llama’s are very on-trend at the moment. I don’t know why they’re a ‘thing’, but ya know what, I’m totally embracing the crazy and random!

And so I decided to use the December Days collection to create a layout about this “silly season” and I used this cut file to cut out all the bits and pieces to create my ‘fa-la-la-la-llama’!

Instead of using paper circles to create the look of pom pom trim on the llama, I used the enamel dots. I love how these look. They were such a great way to use up the larger dots which I always find more difficult to use.

I used the ‘Ornaments' paper as my background, as I loved the cute little robins facing each other, as well as the line of trees which I thought could look like the side of a mountain top.

I love the chipboard alphas, especially because of the brushes of gold foil on them! And they’re the perfect size and font to created loads of different looks with them. I placed them very wonkily on the page to create a fun and crazy kinda title, which goes well with my festive llama!

I really love how this page came together, and I can see myself making a seasonal llama page throughout the next year! I’m totally embracing the crazy llama trend… ha!!

Thanks for hopping along today.

See you next time,
Elsie x

Day 11 of the 12 Days of Giving Blog Hop | Hip Kit Club

Hey everyone! I've got a new layout to share with you today as part of the Hip Kit Club's 12 Days of Giving Blog Hop.

I'm really excited to share my layout with you because I have designed today's freebie cut file - eek!

You guys know how I love to create my scenes and this cut file has loads of possibilities to help you create one!

Using brick backgrounds is something I do often on my pages, as they're such a useful design element! In my Silhouette software I ungrouped the brick clusters from the cut file, duplicated them and scattered them all around the page to give the effect of the outside of a house.

I made this quite subtle by cutting the bricks from white cardstock and using it to back the file as well. It adds some nice texture without making the page any busier!

I sized the window so it would fit a 4x6 photo inside of it; I love how this makes the photo a feature of the page! The cut file also comes with two ledges to place on top and below the window frame.

My favourite part of this layout has to be the fairy light clusters! I copy and pasted the strands into an arrangement I liked and welded them together and cut them from white cardstock. I also cut the bulbs separately from some scraps I had left over to create some colourful and festive lights!

Make sure you check out the gorgeous project Kim created using the file, and don't forget to follow this link to pick up the file as well as the rest of the ones on offer!

Lanterns | Scrapbook Layout | The E-sie Challenge!

Essie and I are back with this month's sketch challenge! It was my turn to create this month's sketch, here's what I came up with:

This month I created a 12x12 layout with the Maggie Holmes Carousel collection. I seriously don't think I will ever get enough of it!

And here's my video as well as Essie's (FYI, her TN spread is to die for!):

Make sure to tag us on Insta (@heyelsie_ and @essie.ruth) if you create anything based off the sketch :)

'Til next time,
